Welcome to the 3rd VdGM Forum webpage!

The tradition of VdGM continues: this time the Forum lands in the ancient and historical city of Jerusalem. The 3rd VdGM Forum brings promise of a fascinating professional program together with a chance to visit the Holy Land, a mixture of old and new, east and west – a true multi-cultural experience.

The 3rd Forum will concentrate on urgent matters that concerns us all. The Forum main theme is "Reaching Out For Diverse Populations: Medicine For The Vulnerable". We will also deal with other challenges such as our training programs and research in family medicine. Moreover, selected clinical skills will be trained through workshops.

This Forum offers a new way of presentation: debates! Showing the two sides of the coin can open our minds to a new way of thinking and understanding of other peoples' thoughts and beliefs. Not only should we choose the right way, but also learn to truly know every possible way.

In addition, we've prepared two optional pre-Forum activities: the pre-Forum exchange program and the pre-Forum workshops. While the first allow participants to experience Israel's primary care system, part of which is the second largest Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) in the world, the latter will widen your clinical knowledge and skills.

Keep the VdGM tradition, join us and bring your knowledge, thoughts and ideas, share them with residents and establishing family physicians from around Europe!

You will also have the opportunity to enjoy one of the most ancient and multi-cultural cities in the world: Jerusalem! Of course, Israel offers many other fascinating sites to visit, not mentioning the sunny Mediterranean beach waiting for you…

The Host Organizing Committee, with great help of the Israeli Association of Family Physicians, has made an effort to bring life to a high quality event while at the same time making it affordable. Learning from feedback about the previous Forums, we've extended this Forum to last two and a half days, though registration fee was not changed. We all hope you'll find this Forum professionally fruitful and socially invigorating.

In the name of all Host Organizing Committee members, the Israeli Association of Family Physicians, and all Israeli Family Medicine residents and establishing Family Physicians we wish you "SHALOM" (meaning peace) and welcome you to Israel.
