16th PCDE Conference: opportunities for VdGMians

Do you have a special interest on Diabetes? 

Primary Care Diabetes Group (PCDE), the WONCA Europe Special Interest Group on Diabetes, will hold its 16th International Conference on 17-18 April 2020 in Barcelona.

If you are keen to know more on “The new challenges of primary care in diabetes management”, you don't want to miss it!

VdGMians can benefit from a special discount for trainees/junior doctors. You are also invited to present your own research - the deadline for abstract submission is March 2nd, 2020. The Presenting author of the highest scoring abstract will receive the PCDE Best Conference Abstract Award (1.000€).

 

Are you our Rising Star on Diabetes?

VdGM was offered the opportunity to nominate a candidate for the PCDE Rising Star Award! The winner of this award will have the opportunity to share her/his research findings in the “Rising Star” session and PCDE will take care of his/her travel arrangements (registration fee, flight and hotel room).

The criteria for nomination of candidates are:

  • Age 45 years and below;
  • At least 5 years experience in primary care oriented clinical research and/or clinical work as a primary care professional;
  • To have finished (or going to finish within one year) a PhD or similar dissertation;
  • At least two publications in peer reviewed journals.
     

The documents to be submitted for the nomination procedure are:

  • Curriculum vitae of the candidate (including a full list of publications and relevant research activities);
  • Two full text publications in peer reviewed journals by the candidate (optional);
  • Motivation letter of the candidate (optional).

 
The documents for nomination should be submitted until February 24th to the VdGM Liaison to PCDE at pcde.vdgm@gmail.com.
