Newsflash: Conference Exchange available in Romania! The message from our Romanian colleagues:

"Dear Vasco da Gamians,

With great pleasure we invite you to the 2016 VdGM|AMF Conference Exchange, which will be again held in Cluj (Romania) between May 22nd-28th!

Participants will observe Romanian family doctors in their practices during the first 2 days of the exchange and are invited to attend the AMF Cluj Family Medicine Conference between 26-28 May.

One of the Conference sessions will be in English with international guest speakers:

  • Bohumil Seifert (Czech Republic), Chair of the Prague 2017 Wonca Europe Conference
  • Francesco Carelli (Italy), EURACT Executive Board member.

Conference fee is offered by the hosts. Accomodation is not provided but very nice central hotels and villas can be booked at 35-45€/double room in Cluj!

Cluj is very easy to reach via its international airport with flights by low-cost companies Wizzair, Vueling and also Lufthansa. More here and here.

Please contact your National Exchange Coordinators by May 1st (extended deadline) to participate, as places are limited!

Opinions of our first guests in 2015:

"I liked that I saw how equipped the practices in the city are, and what problems urban patients have. Also, the doctor was very talkative and told us lots of things about Romanian health care."

"The doctor was really supportive and gave us many interesting facts, showed us his practices and even drove us to the countryside so that we got a really good insight into that part of rural Romania."

"I liked everything, people hosting us were nice, dear, smart, pleasant, resourceful with ideas and funny. Places we'd go, and stuff we'd do ... everything was great , creative, restaurants with good food and extraordinary athmosphere!"

"Rich programme, different pastimes, absolutely great!"

We can't wait to meet you in Cluj!"
